Read and Respond;) ~ 1/15/2018 ~

Hello everyone!! This past week was pretty slow and not a ton to talk about. But we have been constantly been going over the less actives that live here in Mescalero, and finding some success! We went to a house that was on the list and started talking to this guy, and he actually came outside and talked with us for 45 minutes....which is SUPER RARE out here! Most of the time people think that we are the Cops, FBI, or Jdubs haha and they don't answer the door.... But we were talking to this guy and found out that he is actaully a baptized member, but just hasn't had his records moved over here yet! He was a pretty sweet guy!!
This week we had the chance to watch President Monson's Funeral and it was a great experience! I loved what his daughter spoke on.....she talked about how President Monson always said that true happiness came when you are serving you God. When you serve others you are serving you God.
And I have found that to be true in the 6 months that I have been out here! It is not all sunshine and rainbows somedays, and I have had some of the hardest days of my life out here, but I have also had some of the best days out here!! They come when you are seeking out service for others and doing the little things. This gospel isn't about all of the complex things.....it's about going to church, reading your scriptures, helping that elderly person shovel the snow off of their driveway. When we do the simple things, we find joy.

I hope you all have had a killer week!!
Sending love from NM.

1/8/2018 ~ Another week Another email

Que paso friends and fam!

This week has been pretty good! To start off the week we had a couple exchanges with the Ruidoso Elders and also the Zone Leaders. They were both great! We have been doing tons of less active work still and also even a little finding!! We don't go knocking doors that often because the Indians aren't very friendly..... but actually Me and my Zone Leader ,Elder Page, and tried some knocking.....and later that night a lady was ran over 3 times in the little neighborhood by some crazy old Apache!! Haha pretty insane!!
Right now we are working with an excommunicated member that wants to be baptized once his girl friend gets out of jail! And she gets out at the end of this month! So we have been going by and starting to give him and his kids the lessons and we could very well have 2 baptisms by the end of next tranfer!!

Not much else happened this week besides having to drive to Texas to re-register our truck.....I drove like 7-8 hours that day....ha that was a rough one ha!!
Hope y'all have had a great week!!

- Boppy New Year - January 2, 2018 -

Happy New Year Everyone!!

This week has been full of lots of driving and trying to find a bunch of less actives here in my area!! Remember like 3 months ago when I said I was driving a lot....well that's nothing compared to now ha!! We live 30 minutes out of my area because since I am not Native American, we are not allowed to live on the Reservation! Also like every single house out here is probably a mile a part....thank goodness Elder Batty has GPS!! Even then sometimes we are completely lost haha!! A couple days ago, we were trying to find this house and the GPS took us up into the mountains on this very random road and who knows where we were heading but about 2 miles up the road we found this sweet lake that was frozen over! So we actually drove up there yesterday for P-Day and wandered around and had a little picnic!! It is Beautiful out here! Even though there isn't much snow...still reminds me of home!!

This week we had a pretty cool experience to take a less active member some groceries! We were on exchanges with the Ruidoso Elders and we were going through our list of names, and ended up visiting her! We showed up and gave her a spiritual thought and invited her to church! We didn't know that she walks every where.......which is like 13 miles to church!! But she came to church! She talked to a member a little and we found out that she was without food! So later that day we went with Bro. Woody to get some food and me and Elder Batty got to take it to her! We showed up with TONS of food and the look her 5 little boys faces made my whole year.

It showed me that no matter what we have in life we should be grateful for. There are people out n the world that are in need of many things and even just a loaf of bread will put the biggest grin on their face!! I am so grateful for the chances like that, that I have been able to have on my mission!
Hope you all haven't broke your New Years Resolutions quite yet and keep them!! If you haven't already I would challenge you all to set a Spiritual Goal..... whether it be Finish the Book of Mormon, or go to the temple at least once a week! I promised that always keeping an eye single to the Glory of God will bless you life and make this year better!!

I am so grateful for this gospel and especially the opportunity that I have to be a missionary.

Love you bye

12/26/2017 - Jesus is the Reason for the Season -

Hello everyone!

This week was full of lots of new adventures. I now am in my new area in Mescalero New Mexico.... and wow, it is something else hah!!
That can be taken many different ways! I am basically in the middle of the Sierra Mountains and it is beautiful!! We actually got snow just the other day! The other part that it is different..well My area is on a Indian Reservation! I am one of THE ONLY white people on the whole reservation!! They used to only send the huge and colored missionaries here because it is so dangerous!! Pretty crazy ha!! I went from strictly riding a bike at all times to never touching a bike because it is against Indian tradition to ride bikes.... and we might get shot if we do haha! I am looking forward to all of the crazy memories that I am going to make while I am here!!

This week has been a wonderful week to reflect on our Savior. And be able to remember everything that we are thankful for! I hope you all have had a very merry Christmas wherever y'all are this Holiday Season!

People say pictures can say 1000 words.... and I don't have much time to write so here are a bunch of pictures!!;)

Love Y'all and Merry Christmas!

This week was pretty crazy, spiritual, warm, cold, and everything else that you can think of!! I found out that I am getting Transfered to Mescalaro, New Mexico!! Gonna be so sweet! I am pumped! They actually have mountains over there!! It is possible that I will actually have some snow for XMAS:)

This week we met up with My favorite Catholic Priest and this time he gave us Catholic Roman Collars.....so what the Priest preaches in when they have church haha they are so sweet!! Also while he took us out to dinner He was on EMS calls....and we got to go check out a couple of EMS calls with him!! Pretty fun stuff!

This week we were able to go to a couple Christmas parties and sit back and relax for a few minutes.. that's what it seemed like anyways!! HA. This week I had many opportunities to think about the birth of our Savior. I am so grateful for my Savior to come to this earth and to atone for the sins of the world, take the pains and afflictions of everyone, and especially to set an example for us! I love this gospel and know that it is true without a doubt in my mind!!

Sorry there isn't much time for me today because I have to go get packed up for my new area. But I hope y'all have a Very Merry Christmas, and remember our Savior and the true meaning of XMAS this year.

Merry Christmas & Love
