How Bout Conference?? - 4-2-2018

Hello Everyone!!!

This week has been a great one!! To start out the week me and Elder Stilson went to the Elderly Center to do some service! That was a mistake........we show up to see 50,000 eggs ( no joke there really was 50,000 eggs!!! We had to boil all of them and color them all too for an Easter egg hunt that they were putting on the next day!! It took from the time we showed up until about 3 in the afternoon......I never knew that boiling and coloring eggs was so strenuous but I felt like I had just got out of a football game afterwards ha!!  The next day our Zone Leaders came down from Roswell to go on an Exchange with us. To start the morning we went to the Elderly Center again to help them out to HIDE all of the eggs...... that took forever and a day. But it was well worth helping them out with that because we got to watch all of the Elderly People go hard in the Easter egg hunt afterwards!! They cleared out all the eggs within like 20 minutes! After that we went and got to serve them all lunch and do the Chicken dance with them!! After we were done at the Elderly Center, me and Elder Nabrotzky went to chop some wood for a lady that we gave a Blessing to early in the week. Towards the end of the night me and Elder Nabrotzky went out to do some knocking. We were out and found this lady that seemed super interested. We set up a return appointment, left her with some Restoration pamphlets and headed somewhere else!!

The next day me and Elder Stilson went back to Denise's house. We showed up and she pulled out the pamphlet and it was marked up like she had had it for a week!! We ended up teaching it to her again even though she probably could have recited the whole thing to us. We told her a lot about how our Church focuses on the Resurrection of our Savior. She then told us about a story that her Mom told her when she was little that has been past down from generation to generation. She told us that her Mom told her how Christ came down to visit the Native Americans many years ago and taught about repentance and loving one another. And she said there was only one problem. Nobody had ever written it down........ What a smack to the face of a reassurance that the Book of Mormon is true. Through the tears I continued to tell her about 3rd Nephi when Christ comes and visits the America's. Soon enough she was in tears too and committed to read the Book of Mormon. We had a great lesson with her and when we were about to leave we asked her if there was anything else that we could do for her, and she said come back over tonight for dinner. She is an awesome lady that is truly searching for the light of the Gospel in her life.

This week I also had the great opportunity to listen to General Conference. Many new changes that will push us closer to becoming life our Father in Heaven. One talk that stood out to me was President Dallin H. Oak's. He talked a lot about how we need to focus on the little things in our lives. It is when we do things like reading the scriptures, going to church, saying our prayers, and serving others...that is when we make it possible for the Spirit to be in our lives!!! Live worthy to be led and Guided by the Spirit. I was so grateful to hear from our beloved Prophet. I know that he is called of God and I sustain him in his calling! Just like the Primary song Follow the Prophet says.....we need to FOLLOW him!! I know as we try and emulate the teachings and guidance he gave us, it will be easier to live righteously in wicked world!!!  Hope Y'all had a great April Fools and even Greater Easter Weekend.

Love Elder Rose

This was a picture we sent to Elder Rose this week. We were coloring eggs before Easter, and there happened to be a heart appear as this egg was colored.
It was beautiful.
I wanted Elder Rose to know that we love him so we emailed it to him on his P-Day.

Zone Conference pictures were posted by President and Sister Hales on 4/3/2018. We are so grateful that they put pictures on Instagram for us here at home to see what fun they are up to and to see those smiles. :)
